Patrice Lombardi

When I think of Mauritius, my mind is filled with an incredible palette of colors and light. Color and light are also the two components at the heart of my work. Even in my most complex paintings, my desire is to create richness with the paint but to keep the color fresh and immediate. In all of my paintings, I strive to capture the essence of my subjects. My goal is to transform a basket, a butterfly or a bird, a vase of tulips, a cypress or a person into a statement in painting that transcends reality.

I participated in about twenty solo exhibitions in Italy, England and the United States. My work is part of private, public and corporate collections around the world.
